Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of high frequency ultrasound in parotid tumors. Methods High frequency ultrasonic manifestations and the diagnostic coincidence rate in 72 patients with pathologically confirmed parotid tumors were retrospectively analyzed. Results Pleomorphic adenoma,Warthin tumor and parotid cancer accounted for 90.28%(65/72) of all the 72 cases of parotid tumors, and the ultrasonic diagnostic coincidence rate of them was 88.00%(22/25),56.25%(9/16) and 45.83%(11/24),respectively.Warthin tumor mostly occurred in elder men, which showed rich blood flow signal.Parts of parotid cancers without typical malignant features were difficult to be identified with ultrasonography. Conclusion The differential diagnosis of parotid tumors mainly focus on pleomorphic adenoma,Warthin tumor and parotid cancer.Combination closely with clinic information is an important way to improve ultrasonic diagnostic coincidence rate.
