Abstract
Optical burst switching (OBS) is a new optical switching technology emerging in recent years. Combining the advantages of wavelengthrouting and optical packet switching, OBS is a relatively ideal interim scheme for switching networks in near future. This article introduces the basic principle of OBS in detail, and discusses the key technologies for OBS, such as the setting of offset time and the scheduling of data channel. Finally it summarizes the characteristics of OBS and some problems that still need to be solved.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
