Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents of Heterosmilax japonica. Kunth.METHODS The compounds were separated with chromatography and their chemical structures were elucidated by means of IR,MS, 1H-NMR,and 13C-NMR spectral method respectively.RESULTS Nine compounds were isolated from the plant. They were identified as palmaitic acid(Ⅰ),α,α′-[bis-5-formyl-2-furanyl]dimethyl ether(Ⅱ),p-hydroxybenzoic acid(Ⅲ),rhein(Ⅳ),β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucoside(Ⅴ),β-sitosterol(Ⅵ),glycerol monopalmitate(Ⅶ),behenic acid(Ⅷ)and octacosane(Ⅸ).CONCLUSION The compoundsⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ,Ⅶ,Ⅷ and Ⅸ were isolated from the plant for the first time.
