Abstract

The decoloration technology with activated clay, activated carbon, and kaolinite to biodiesel which was prepared by rubber seed oil in homogeneous acid condition was studied. The results indicated that three kinds of discolouring agent have different effect. The optical conditions for decoloration with activated clay were:7% active clay, decoloring temperature 80℃,treatment time 30 min,and agitation speed 120 r/min,under which the decolorization rate was 75.65%;the optical conditions for decoloration with activated carbon were:9% activated carbon, decoloring temperature 70℃,treatment time 10 min,and agitation speed 120 r/min,under which the decolorization rate was 64.20%;the optical conditions for decoloration with kaolinite were:9% kaolinite, decoloring temperature 70℃,treatment time 30 min,and agitation speed 120 r/min,under which the decolorization rate was 46.17%.The decoloration with activated clay is the best in the three kinds of discolouring agent.
