Abstract

Based on the dynamic test on the weld connection, the end-plate connection and the angle connection′s steel frame, the mode analysis is discussed to investigate the relations between frame parameters and the dynamic characteristics of different finite element analytic models for practical engineering, the parameters include floor number, span number and damp of the frame, especially the rotation stiffness of beam-to-column connections. The test and analysis show that the period of frames increase in turn for the weld connection′s,the end-plate connection′s and the angle connection′s steel frame respectively.Comparing with the steel frame structure, the period and frequency of semi-rigid frames are between rigid and simple frames and semi-rigid connection will reduce the existence of the flexible structure of the natural frequencies, especially for the fundamental frequency of the structure.
