Abstract

Objective To observe the diopter changes in the adults aged 18~25 years with myopia.Method For 100 cases(200 eyes) were divided into 4 groups for medical optometry, then analyzed and compared the relationships between the optometry results, ages, history of spectacles and dominant eyes. Results ①The average equivalent spherical lenses diopter(AESLD) of the patients were-(4.11±1.73) D,-(3.77±1.67) D,-(3.90±1.67) D,respectively before mydriasis;after mydriasis and reinspection, which was showing significant difference when compared with that before mydriasis(P= 0.024,P= 0.039);②The AESLD of each age group,18~20 years,20~25 years were-(4.07±1.75) D,-(4.18 ±1.71) D before mydriasis,-(3.78 ±1.73) D,-(3.66±1.62) D after mydriasis,-(3.91±1.72) D,-(3.87±1.60) D during reinspection respectively, which was showing significant difference when compared with that before and after mydriasis(P=0.025,P=0.045) as well as reinspection(P=0.042,P=0.049);③The AESLD of the patients with a history of glasses were-(4.89±1.52) D and-(4.53±1.48) D,respectively before and after mydriasis(P=0.039),which was showing statistically significant difference when compared with those without history of glasses-(2.63±0.99) D and-(2.38±0.97)D(P=0.045);④Oculus dominans were more common in the right eye which was correlated with the degree of myopia.Furthermore,it was more sensitive to the changes of degree. Conclusion The myopia aged 18~25 years still need medical optometry, particularly they will feel more comfortable if through accurate optometry on dominant eye.
