Expression and Significance of Interleukin 17 and Eotaxin-2 in Nasal Polyps

Abstract

Objective To study the expression of interleukin 17(IL-17) and Eotaxin-2 in nasal polyps tissues,investigate their possible function in the progress of nasal polyps,and supply reference for the treatment.Methods Concentrations of IL-17 and Eotaxin-2 in the nasal polyps samples of 48 patients and 10 normal nasal turbinate mucosa samples were determined by immunohistochemistry.Results ① The positive rate of IL-17 and Eotaxin-2 was 10.00% in normal nasal turbinate mucosa and 79.17%,83.33% in nasal polyps samples(P0.01).② Positive correlation was found between IL-17 and Eotaxin-2 expressions.Conclusion ① IL-17 and Eotaxin-2 are over-expressing and play important roles in the occurrence and development of nasal polyps.② IL-17 and Eotaxin-2 are positively correlated.IL-17 has chemotactic function in the action of eosinophilic granulocyte(EOS).The high expression of IL-17 is an important cause of the high expression of Eotaxin-2.
