Qu Qiubai's Criticism about the May 4th Movement

Abstract

In the period of promoting literary and artistic popularization,Qu Qiubai insisted on an attitude of inheritance,criticism and surpassing.To determine the nature of the May 4th Movement in a view of development and according to the actual needs of the Chinese revolution,Qu Qiubai inspected the three aspects of the meaning and value of the May 4th: May 4th is the nature of the bourgeoisie,May 4th discourse is the new origin of misunderstanding between the intellectuals and the public,May 4th is the origin of Europeanization and literature sectarianism.Qu Qiubai concluded that the revolutionary spirit of May 4th will be inherited,and the Cultural Revolution will be continued.
