THE INFLUENCE OF SEDIMENT DIAMETER ON BED-LOAD TRANSPORT RATE

Abstract

According to near 1 000 sets bed-load transport data, the problem about the influence of sediment diameter on bed-load transport has been analyzed by multi-regression method. The results show that sediment transport rate is smaller with greater sediment diameter when the dimensionless sediment diameter is below 500, and sediment transport rate is almost unvaried with varied sediment diameter when the dimensionless sediment diameter is above 500. In addition, a bed-load sediment transport rate equation which takes account the effect of sediment diameter is given out.
