Abstract
Objective to observe effect of nocturnal bruism on stomatognathic system. Methods Fifty nocturnal bruxism patients and fifty normals were examined in malocclusion and function of stomatognathic system. Results The rate of malocclusion was no significant difference between nocturnal bruxism patients and normals. The friquence of each kind of malocclusion in two groups is same basically. The damage of nocturnal bruxsim to stomatognathic system occurs earlier in masticatory nuscles than in temporomandibular joint. Conclusions The damage of nocturnal bruism to stomatognathic system has been increasing over time.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
