Abstract
The interaction between a conventional rectangle primary jet and a synthetic jet was investigated experimentally. The synthetic jet actuator was parallel to the primary jet and the formation of a low-pressure region between the jets results in deflection of the primary jet towards the actuator jet. A detailed study shows that the vectoring angles vary with the distance between the synthetic jet and the primary jet. The experiment indicates that the 45°vector turning of 5.4 m/s primary jet is achieved by specially designed actuator while the maximum velocity value of the synthetic jet 5.5m/s is also achieved.
