Design and implementation of FPGA-based embedded ZigBee gateway

Abstract

In order to realize remote monitoring of sensor network equipments in the internet of things or the industry control field, a FPGA-based embedded gateway system is designed and implemented in this paper.The proposed system constructs the system on programmable chip(SOPC),performs data collection in multiple ZigBee nets by using serial communication of NIOSII embedded system, and is combined with realization of data transmission by Ethernet and real-time monitoring in host computer.The whole system is realized and verified on DE2-115 development board.Experimental results satisfy the demand of the design.With properties of flexiblility and configurability, the system has a better application prospect in the future.
