Thinking about the Direction of the History of Chinese Philosophy and Its Methodology

Studies about the history of Chinese philosophy have expericered three stages in the twentieth century in China.Scholars were inclined to study the history of Chinese philosophy in terms of the Western philosophy during the first stage.During the second stage, from the point of Marxism exclusively it was studied . During the third stage, after 1980,various methods have been used,the studies have appeared a thriving state. Especially there are three kind of relations which should be noticed in the methodological studies,i.e.,the relation between the history of Chinese philosophy and the Chinese traditional culture ; the relation between the history of Chinese philosophy and the Chinese philosophy; the relation between the problom of intensive studies and extensive studies about the history of Chinese philosophy.
