Abstract

Treatment of wastewater containing phenol and formaldehyde has been carried out by Fenton oxidation-coagulation-absorbent process. The effects of initial pH on wastewater,H2O2 doses,[Fe2+]/[H2O2],reaction time, temperature,pH and mass concentration for coagulation, absorbent dose and time were investigated. The optimistic conditions are determined.97.85% of COD,99.75% of phenol and 99.81% of formaldehyde removal were achieved at pH4,[H2O2]=800 mg/L[,Fe2+]/[ H2O2]=0.1,T=40 ℃t,=60 min,pH and mass concentration for coagulation were 8 and 500 mg/L,absorbent dose and time were 30 g and 60 min, providing the good premise for the following biological treatment to remove.
