Abstract

Viewing the Mongolian music history,folk music in Horchin area has the most complete varieties and the clearest sequence of the times.It can be called the Museum of Mongolian traditional music.Military songs convey the historical and cultural information and feast songs are the textbooks of the prairie life with both the function of entertainment and that of educating.One of the characteristics of traditional folk songs in Horchin area is the clear reservations of the remained historical vestige of the exchanges with the music of other domestic peoples and it is a rare living fossil.
