Abstract

The poem Everlasting Regret is one of the masterpieces of Bai Ju-yi's sorrowful works and there are so many themes on its subject such as parable,love,amorous feelings etc.There are some different understandings about construction of ideas,such as two,three,four,or five stanzas.The idea of four stanzas in Selected Poems of Tang and Song compiled in Qing dynasty is the most reasonable and the most popular one in history.
