Abstract

Objective To discuss the efficiency of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomywith holmium laser for the treatment of upper urinary calculi. Methods Thirty-five cases of Upper Urinary calculi were treated by MPCN with holmium laser. Results The stone-free rate was 91.42%(32/35).The duration of operation was 85~235min(mean,135min).5 cases with residual stone underwent extracorporal shock wave lithotripsy after the operation. The length of postoperative hospital stay was 7~9 d(mean,8.2 d).Follow-up observations in the 35 cases for 2-6 months showed complete relief of symptoms and no recurrent stone. Conclusions MPCNL with holmium laser is safe and effective in the treatment of Upper Urinary calculi.
