Contrastive clinical study of conservative and modified radical mastectomy for early breast cancer

Abstract

Objective: To compare the prognostic influence of conservative mastectomy and modified radical mastectomy on patients with early breast cancer.Methods: Retrospectively analyzed 63 subjects for conservative Mastectomy in early breast cancer of our hospital between July 2005 to July 2008,and to contrastively investigated with 63 subjects for modified radical mastectomy in early breast cancer on the corresponding period.Results: Conservative mastectomy did not increase the recurrence rate,metastasis rate,and the death rate.The survival rate was similar to modified radical mastectomy on the corresponding period.Conservative mastectomy had kept the breast' s shape nicely.Conclusion: Conservative mastectomy is a viable surgical method for early breast cancer.
