Abstract

In this paper,a qualitative reliability analysis of the SBW was firstly performed to find the most influencing failure mode, using failure mode and effects analysis(FMEA) methods. Then,a fault tree of the part which has the key failure mode, has been built and the minimum cut sets leading to the fault of system has been found out,and a quantitative analysis has been conducted to compare effects of each basic event on system reliability. Finally the weak parts of the system have been located, which is helpful to the improvement of steer by wire system reliability.
