Abstract

To study the histomorphology of the visual cortex in the yak cerebrum at different growth periods. The visual cortex thickness, neuron sectional area and density in the yak cerebrum at different growth periods(1day,30days,180days,adult) were measured by using histology technology and image analysis software. Results showed that : with the age growth, visual cortex thickness and neuron sectional area increased, densities of the 30days old yak, were significant higher than that of 180days old and adult groups(P0.05).Results revealed that visual cortex thickness and neuron section area increased gradually from birth to adulthood, neuron densities increased with age from 30days old to adulthood.
