On the Thought of Harmonious Society in the Republic of Plato

Abstract

The Republic is the most important representative work of Plato's politic and social thought.In the work,Plato described an ideal state,which is based on the public ownership of women and children,and has a good social order,and is state justice by goal.We can not only knew Plato's thought of harmonious society, but also learn the social conditions of that times,and see through clearly the social background from which the thought derived.
