Concept of Economic Development of the Chinese Communist Party: Historical Progress and Implications

The author identifies four stages in the concept of economic maintained by the Chinese Communist Party. They are as follows: the democratic concept of around the founding of the People's Republic of China expressed in the document Commen Guiding Principles; the traditional socialist concept of represented by the two General Lines between the years 1953 and 1977; the concept of the primary stage of socialism in the name development as the priority raised in 1978 to 1996; scientific concept of marked by new industrialization and the human-development oriented ideas since 1997. The progress in cognition and theories illustrates the Party's deepening understanding of the Chinese situation and her character of developing with the time. It also reflects the complexity and hardship of the task of modernizing China.
