Abstract
The mono-dimension of human spiritual life greatly puzzles human beings in age of science and technology. People in modern times have a much stronger desire for dignity, fairness, and meaningful life than ever before. This has been reflected in contemporary academic criticism on so-called Modernity (usually called Postmodernist criticism). On surface, it is an expression of dissatisfaction with the poor taste of modern culture, but, in essence, it is a strong demonstration of modern people's intense pursuit of super spiritual life. It is also an indication of their great alertness to being true. being perfect under cover of tools and to idolization of faded significance of scientific rationality, so popular in contemporary age.
