SOME PIVOTAL PROBLEMS ABOUT THE URBANIZATION IN THE PROCESS OF WESTERN DEVELOPMENT

It is a important part of modern developmental strategy in China to implement western developmental strategy and reduce the gap between east region and west region. The author analyses the elementary characteristics of urbanization in western district, contraposes the problems it is faced with, puts forward some pivotal problems which should be regarded in the process of urbanization in western region. The author think that western development actually is the urbanization in western region, and carrying out the stratagem of western development should be based on city. We should regard urbanization as the precursor of western development and think of urbanization as a important means to realize sustainable development of economy and society, and to drive economic development in western region.
