Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia on endothelial cell apoptosis and Mn-SOD expression. Methods: The HUVEC were incubated for 72 hours, then EC apoptosis was measured through Capase-Glo r 3/7 Reagent. The Mn-SOD expression was measured through SQ-RT-PCR. Results: ECs apoptosis increased at high concentration of glucose and/or insulin(P 0.05)and Mn-SOD expression decreased(P 0.05). Conclusion: Hyperglycemia and/or hyperinsulinemia have harmful impact on HUVEC antioxidative capability even in the hyperinsulinemia phase not hyperglycemia state.
