Abstract

Objective To investigate expression of glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)in the rat hippocampus after chronic unpredictable stress.Methods Model rats were exposed to unpredictable stress for 21 days,and the control rats were fed normally.Open-field was used to evaluate the change of rat behaviors;and Western blot was used to detect the levels of GSK-3β in the rat hippocampus.Results After chronic stress,the body weight,the horizontal crossing numbers,the erection times and the modification times were lower in model group than in control group(P0.01);the levels of GSK-3β were higher in model group than in control group(IDVmodel=28413.30±2501.31,IDVcontrol=23149.50±3107.25,P0.05).Conclusions Chronic unpredictable stress upregulates the expression of GSK-3β in rat hippocampus.
