Right Hemicolectomy with D3 Lymph Node Dissection for Right Colon Cancer

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of right hemicoloectomy with D3 lymph node dissection for right colon cancer. Methods: A total of 175 cases were given right hemicoloectomy with D3 or D2 lymph node dissection from April 1987 to July 2003, and their clinical effects were compared and analyzed. ResultS: There was significant difference in prognosis between patients with D3 radical operation and D2 radical operation (P0.01).Conclusion: Right hemicoloectomy with D3 lymph node dissection is an effective way to reduce neoplasm recurrence without more operative complications which should be a standard radical operation for right colon cancer.
