On the model and countermeasures of export-oriented agriculture in the central and western area of China

Developing export-oriented agriculture is the road by which china converts agricultural production system and realizes agricultural modernization. In contrast with the eastern area of China, the export-oriented agriculture of the central and western area has developed slowly and been in a lower level. It has a disadvantage on capital, technique, talented persons and information, but a clear advantage on agricultural natural resources and product resources. On the condition of the strategy of the grand-scale development of the western area and Chinese will-be membership of World Trade Organization, the export-oriented agriculture of the central and western area has huge potential. This paper analyses the basic characteristics of export-oriented agriculture and the existing situation of the central and western area, then puts forward the model and countermeasures of developing export-oriented agriculture in the central and western area.
