Abstract

After introducing the contents of Hoek-Brown strength criterion, the author analyzes the influence of the value of the constants m and s on the rock mass strength based on the research achievement obtained by E.Hoek in 1983,in order that we can use the Hoek-Brown strength criterion correctly.
