Abstract

phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate(PIP2) is a signaling phospholipids of the plasma membrane that has a dynamically changing concentration.It can be hydrolyzed by phospholipase C into two parts:inositol trisphosphate(IP3) and diacylglycerol(DAG).As signaling molecules,they interact with many cytoplasmic and membrane proteins.Recent studies have revealed an increasing number of ion channels interacting with PIP2,and the members of TRP(transient receptor potential) family were among the latest.Some TRP channels absolutely require PIP2 for functioning,while others are inhibited.The activation of TRP channels may also influence cel-lular PIP2 levels via the influx of Ca2+ through these channels.In this paper,we focus on the recent advances concerning on the relation of TRP channels with PIP2.
