Abstract

Objective:To investigate the MR findings of cavernous hemangiomas located in the cavernous sinus.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 2 cases of cavernous hemangiomas in the cavernous sinus proved surgically and pathologically was studied.MRI examination was undergone in 2 cases.Results: One was located in the left cavernous sinus,the other was right.MRI studies revealed that the cavernous hemangiomas in cavernous sinus were segmented in shape,with sharp outlined,and the signal intensity was homogeneous with long T1 and T2,without calcification or hemorrhage.On MRI enhanced scans with T1WI,the lesions demonstrated homogeneously and highly enhanced,afferent and moderately advanced,and the enhanced signal intensity were higher than pituitary gland.Conclusion: The MRI features of cavernous hemangiomas in the cavernous sinus are characteristic,and the MR examinations are helpful for the diagnosis of their location and nature.
