Abstract
Staggered shear walls structures composed of story-deep and bay-wide discrete staggered panels along height of frame structures is a new kind of complicated structures. In order to study on the seismic behavior of this new kind of complicated structures, including its bearing capacity, deformation capability, ductility as well as failure mechanism, the comparison of the tests of 3 the reinforced concrete staggered shear walls structure and 1 reinforced concrete frame-shear wall structure subjected to the low cyclic reversed load are carried out.Working mechanism of the staggered shear walls structure under lateral load are analysized, the full-range analysis and wall cracking failure modes of staggered shear walls structures are studied. The results of the tests showed that lateral stiffness and bearing capacity of the staggered shear walls structure are higher than that of conventional frame shear wall structure.staggered panels make the staggered shear walls structures redistribution of internal forces,X-shaped brace in staggered panels can delay the happen and development of wall cracking, and make cracking distribution more uniform.
