Abstract
The adsorption of the attapulgite for mercury in aqueous was studied. Various factors afecting adsorption such as pH values, adsorption time, and adsorption temperature were investigated and the adsorption kinetics were also explored. The results show that attapulgite has absorbability for Hg(Ⅱ) aqueous, absorption rate was increased when decreasing the attapulgite particle size. And absorption rate exceeded90% at the conditions of temperature about 40 C, time 40min, pH 7. Capacity of the absorption reached454mg/g. The kinetics of adsorption followed pseudo-second-order model and the equilibrium data were well fitted to the Freundlich. The absorption was chemical absorption.
