Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of vindesine in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and to observed the side effects of vindesine. Methods One hundred forty-two patients with advanced NSCLC(stage Ⅲb or Ⅳ)were divided into 2 groups randomly to give CAP+ vindesine(78 cases)or CAP(64 cases)regimens. The characteristics were well-balanced between the 2 groups with regards to sex, age, performance status, stage, histology and previous chemotherapy. Results The effective rate(41.9%)in the CAP+ vindesine group was higher than that (16.7) in CAP group. The main side effects of vindesine group were myelosuppression, perpheral neuropathy and mild phlebitis. The dose limiting toxicity of CAP+ vindesine regimen was myelosuppression. Conclusion The efficacy of vindesine to NSCLC is confirmed. There was some synergy when vindesine is combined with CAP regimen. The side effects are tolerable.
