Abstract

AIM:To observe the effects of baicalin on the chemotaxis of monocytes THP-1 cells. METHODS:FACS analysis was used to test the expression of chemokine CXCR4 and CCR1 receptors, and the lymphocytes chemotaxis analysis was used to observe the chemotaxis of monocytes THP-1 cells.RESULTS: Chemokine receptors CXCR4 and CCR1 expressed on the THP-1 cell surface.100μmol-L~(-1) and 30μmol·L~(-1) baicalin inhibited the chemokine SDF-1α-induced chemotaxis of monocytes THP-1 cells significantly, but had no effect on the chemokine RANTES-induced chemotaxis and serum-induced chemotaxis.Baicalin itself has no effect on THP-1 migration.CONCLUSION:Baicalin can inhibite the chemokine SDF-1α/CXCR4 induced chemotaxis of monocytes THP-1 cells.
