Abstract

The vernacular Chinese advocated by the May 4th Cultural Movement was deeply influenced by foreign languages and cultures and distinguished from the traditional vernacular Chinese.Foreign languages affect the creation of new-vernacular literature through its influence on modern writers.They not only affect modern writers' creation and aesthetic tendency,but also have great impact on the development of their personalities.The cultivation received from foreign languages comprehensively influence the modern writers,from whose personal conducts or literary works obvious or inconspicuous traces can be found.But modern writers have choices of selecting the foreign language and culture resources.What they choose reflect characteristics of both times and individuals.
