Abstract
Soil organic carbon pool is the biggest in land ecosystem and plays an important role in global carbon cycles. This paper summarized the impacts of soil organic carbon on soil productivity and climate change. Some natural and anthropic factors, which affect soil carbon storage were presented. And various physical, chemical, and biological stabilization mechanisms for soil carbon sequestration and balance were described.Approaches to controlling and regulating soil organic carbon were illustrated.
