Abstract

It is impossible to the existence and development of human beings if there are no technology and technological rationality that guides human beings to practice the technology.Technological rationality is developing dynamically since the technology itself was practiced dynamically in a long historical process. The historical approach to technological rationality is actually a successive of negation process, where the primitive tensile relationship between technological rationality and value rationality in agricultural civilization was kept up to a certain extent. However, the expansion of technological rationality and the lack of value rationality resulted in a tendency of instrumental rationality since the beginning and development of the modern industrial civilization. As a result of the reflection on modern industrial civilization in the perspective of traditional technological rationality,a conclusion is drawn that we shall highlight the harmony between technological rationality and value rationality so as to make technology the activities of practice to pursue multi-objective values.
