Abstract

Soil organic carbon density, soil organic carbon(SOC) distribution characteristics and the relationship between SOC content and soil water content were studied in humus soil, humus peat soil and peat soil based on the wetland status in the Zoige Plateau. Results showed that the SOC content of peat soil was the highest(230 270 g/kg),which was 1.3-3.3 times than that of humus peat soil and 6.75-15.3 times than that of humus soil in study area.SOC density along soil profile in peatland varied little(52-66 kg/m3) but greatly in humus peat soil(40-75 kg/m3).SOC pool in humus soil was only 37% of that in peat soil and humus peat soil. The relationship between SOC content and water content of humus peat soil and humus soil were significantly(p 0.01),which indicated that the change of water, especially the drainage could significantly influence the organic carbon accumulation of wetlands in the Zoige Plateau.
