Abstract

The Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) watershed scale model was developed by the USDA for soil erosion assessment and soil conservation planning. In this paper, throughout the observation of the erosion for the runoff producing and sediment of the purple soil in the Suining city, applied the WEPP modeling to predict the single rainfall erosion and compared it with the measured value. Throughout the effect analyzing and comparing, and it was found that the prediction of WEPP modelling for the erosion process in purple soil is reasonable, and the effect offered favorable reference parameter for the further studies on the WEPP modelling apply to prediction of the average annual erosion. 
