Abstract
Islanding detection is one of the most essential functions for multi-source micro-grid system, which directly relates to equipment safety. Although active detection is widely used among islanding detection methods,it has influence on power quality for the introduction of disturbance variable into the distributed power system. Therefore,an islanding detection method using controlled short-circuit impedance measurement is proposed based on islanding scheme. First, the islanding scheme is proposed based on different load levels and internal power balance. Then the impact of short circuit pulse current signal on power quality is analyzed. MATLAB / Simulink is used for modeling and simulation of the system in islanding and grid-connected states. Experimental results show that the proposed method is reliable and accurate in detecting islanding conditions and reducing the impact on power quality.
