Abstract
Objective This analysis was designed to evaluate the quality of online direct reporting of infectious diseases in 2004, so as to provide a scientific basis on which to further improve the reporting quality and perfect reporting system. Methods Factors that influenced the reporting quality of epidemic situation of infectious diseases were analyzed based on the calculated average index of those factors to comprehensively assess the quality. Results Through censoring the reporting cards of infectious diseases, integrated analysis was carried out in terms of repetitive reports, reporting timeliness, nil reporting and types of primary reporting units, which was indicative of the reporting quality of epidemic situation nationwide. Conclusion Regular evaluation on the reporting quality of epidemic situation of infectious diseases should be carried out. Moreover, key influential factors reflecting problems existing in local management of infectious diseases should also be assayed in order to provide guidance for future reporting work.
