Abstract
Objective: To study the relationship between the expression of synaptophysin and the number of synaptic terminal following focal cerebral ischemia in rats,establishing a new method to study the density of synapse after cerebral ischemia. Methods: Using immunohistochemistry staining and electronic microscope technique,a focal cerebral ischemia rat model was made. Results: After ischemia,the optical density (OD) of synaptophysin positive products decreased and the number of synaptic terminals also decreased. Conclusion:After cerebral ischemia,the expression of synaptophysin and the number of synaptic terminal both decrease,indicating that the amount of synaptophysin can reflect the number of synaptic terminal.
