Abstract
In this paper, polyvinyl alcohol pervaporation composite membrane blended with acrylic ester acrylic acid copolymer in different ratios was prepared. The experimental results show that the swelling quantity and characteristics of the blended membrane are related to the dose of crosslinking agent and blend ratio. When the blend ratio is 15∶85, the equilibrium swelling quantity and the ethanol concentration in membrane is 0.1148 g solution/g membrane and 9.35% respectively. At 75 ℃ of operating temperature, the permeate flux of water is more than 900 g/m 2 h and separation factor is 1800. Results of the IR spectra and DTA analysis show that the blended membrane composition may be partially compatible. Compared with PVA/CS membrane, both permeate flux and separation factor in this experiment has been improved.
