Abstract

What is religion? What composes of religion? By what could a certain culture be judged as religion? Based on related subject theories and Chinese religious history tradition and its existing performance,this paper puts for-ward seven elements consisting of religion,and compares and analyzes the topics regarding traditional religion,popular religion,new religion,popular belief,Huidaomeng and superstition with the intention to providing references for the re-search of religion and consults for the religious policy through clarifying the concept of religion and summarizing the features of it as well as defining religion and the related phenomenon.
