The clinical study of glass fiber post on the restoration of residual roots and crowns in elderly

Abstract

Objective: To study the clinical effects of glass fiber posts on restoration of residual roots and crowns in the eldery. Methods: 68 residual teeth of 53 elderly patients were endodontically treated and restored by glass fiber core and crowns ,the follow-up was from 0.5to2.0 years. Results: 66 cases were satisfactory,1 case got gingivitis and 1 case was lost.The success rate reached 97.06%. Conclusion: The restoration by glass fiber posts for residual roots and crowns in the eldery can achieve satisfactory effects.
