An Analysis of Intra-industry Trade in China's High-tech Industries

With China's economic power enhancing constantly,the share of intra-industry trade has become larger and larger.In particular,the volume of trade in high-tech products has been growing constantly in the recent years.China's high-tech industries are also characterized by high intra-industry trade index and close intra-industry interactions.However,these industries are not free from problems.Actually,some questions are worthy of great attention.These include the loss of traditional comparative advantage and the low level of intra-industry trade.Base on the intra-industry trade indices of the high-tech industries after China's entry into WTO,we investigate the problems with the development of intra-industry trade in these industries at the industry level,the regional level and the national level respectively.Corresponding policy implications are also proposed.
