The clinical application of endoscopic thyroidecto-my through anterior chest wall

Objective To study the possibility and cosmetic result of endoscpic throidectomy. Methods Common thyroid gland diseases including benign thyroid neoplasms were removed in 20 patients by Scarless endoscopic thyroidectomy through anterior chest wall. Results 20 cases were successfully performed by endoscopy with no operation-related complications. One case was converted into conventional operation. The mean operative time was 145 min. The average postoperative hospitalization was 4,2 days. Conclusions Endoscopic thyroidectomy through breast approach is a secure, effective method with no scars remained,and achieves better cosmetic results.
