Abstract
Pilot production of sponge iron was carried out through using mill scales.It is shown that up to standard sponge iron can be produced through using present mill scales under the condition of scale/coke ratio of 1/0.55,reduction temperature of 1050-1150℃ and reduction time of 50h.Up to standard sponge iron can be produced by using stored mill scales unde the condition of the same scale/coke ratio,reduction temperature of 1100-1150℃ and reduction time of 56h as well.The iron powder produced by second reducing the sponge iron powders meets technical requirement.
