Abstract

Potassium is one of the nutrient elements of plant. Soil potassium is the main resource of the potassium that plant needed. Recently, the areas that are short of potassium increas in our country, but the recourse of potassium fertilizer is very limited. So using a substitut is one of the methodes to solve the problem. Potassium dynamic of the rhizophere affects the potassium uptake by crop directly. The potash status affects the soil potassium dynamic. There is a decreasing trend in soil available potassium. The advance in the research of soil potassium is reviewed through following fields: soil potassium forms grading, potassium dynamic of the rhizophere and field potash balance. The new views on some aspects of potassium are suggested.
